i believe games can single-handily be won in the trenches. i believe the giants success is defined by both great offensive and defensive lines. my opinion of eli manning is a turd with 10 seconds. if he has anything less he preforms like a turd lol. but i believe this game was won in the trenches.

e: he was under duress all night.

I don't disagree, but I feel as far as last night went, there was much more to it than the lines. Sure, Eli didn't face much pressure, but the coverage was terrible on top of it. I don't think anybody expected the defense to put much pressure on Eli with Matthews out (I think they actually were in nickel most of the night) but there's still no excuse for the Giants' receivers being as open as they were all night.

this is true, i believe don caper needs to look back into press bump n run coverage, not only did it work well for us but it also disguised a lot of blitz's.

same issues we had last time we played them. Eli enjoyed a steak dinner while sitting in the pocket and finding a multitude of open receivers.

both times giants got off to a quick start and our offense sputtered with penalties, sacks and an early turnover.

couldn't stop the front 4, nor could we generate a pass rush of our own compiled with trying to play catch up against a team who was clicking defensively on all cylinders. time to look at the tape briefly and get back to packer football. time to get healthy and start sealing our own playoff destiny with 4/5 divisional games coming up.

Eli is a turd without 10 seconds? Did you start watching football in 2004 and stop watching in 2006, then just start again today? Otherwise, you're quite misinformed.

Sorry it had to be so brutal.

i've seen that eli can throw to wide open receivers with a secured pocket, i've also seen him have to deal with pressure. Eli is far from an elite quarterback and that's a fairly accepted fact.

I guess he isn't, you've raised valid points.

I guess it only takes a half decent quarterback to stomp the shit out of your team two years in a row lol!

yeah because Eli was the one who was stopping rodgers and the packer offense.

So Rodgers isn't good enough to score more than 10 points on a team that allowed 31 points to the slumping bengals?

I guess he's not elite, either.

obviously you're going to tend towards childish behaviors so i'm going to leave you to that, enjoy yourself.
i don't need absolutely any reason at all to argue why rodgers is elite and eli is not.

I'm a firm believer that you can't play press coverage in this league when you're not generating pressure. I think Capers realized that and game planned to struggle to create pressure on its own (as opposed to creating it off of tight coverage). I'm not too worried. Obviously last night was much more lopsided than I expected, but we knew it would be tough to go in and beat that team off a bye week when they were due to explode, especially with all our injuries. Just need to get healthy.
