Collin Klein ‏@ckleincat7
I am so excited and honored to be given a chance to compete for the Houston Texans!

Collin Klein put together a stellar collegiate career as a quarterback at Kansas State, culminating in a trip to New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist last year. It wasn’t enough to get him drafted, however.

Klein’s name wasn’t called during the seven rounds of the 2013 NFL Draft, leaving him to sign with a team as an undrafted free agent. Klein’s made that choice and he’ll try to make the Texans this summer. Klein announced the signing on Twitter on Saturday night and now we’ll see if he makes his bid for the roster as a quarterback.

The Texans currently have T.J. Yates, Case Keenum and Stephen McGee on the depth chart behind starter Matt Schaub.

The confirmed list of all the undrafted free agents signed by the Texans after the conclusion of the 2013 NFL Draft:

OFFENSE
Colin Klein (QB--Kansas State)
Ozoma Nwachukwu (WR--Texas A&M)
Michael Smith (WR--UConn)
Zach Borne (FB--Ohio State)
Ray Graham (RB--Pittsburgh)
Dann O'Neill (OT--Western Michigan)
Alex Kupper (OG--Louisville)
Marlon Brown (WR--Georgia)
Bryan Collins (OG--SMU)
Andy Cruse (WR--Ohio)
Alec Lemon (WR--Syracuse)
George Winn (RB--Cincinnati)
Dennis Johnson (RB--Arkansas)
Cierre Wood (RB--Notre Dame)

DEFENSE
Johnny Adams (CB--Michigan State)
Evan Frierson (ILB--Illinois)
Travis Howard (CB--Ohio State)
Justin Tuggle (LB--Kansas State)
Earl Okine (DE--Florida)
Ja'Gared Davis (ILB--SMU)
Jawanza Starling (S--USC)
Orhian Johnson (S--Ohio State)
A.J. Bouye (CB--Central Florida)

Ray Graham, I really like that guy out of PITT. I hope he makes the team as the third string halfback behind Arian Foster and Ben Tate. The Texans signed some interesting undrafted free agents. They should be able to keep a few of those guys on the practice squad who don't make the team.

Don't forget, Arian Foster was an undrafted free agent signing for the Texans. Rick Smith and Gary Kubiak scout that position very well.

I can see Ray Graham making the team as the 3rd string RB, since we haven't signed anyone nor drafted a RB. I think Kubiak should've used the Alan Bonner pick on a RB instead of a WR, but we'll see what Ray Graham can do.

Karlos Dansby still haven't signed with any team yet, hopefully we can bring him to Houston for cheap and start him next to Cushing.

Looking at that roster, Houston will be able to play a successful brand of smash-mouth football again. The addition of Greg Jones at fullback was huge. They've added some more talent in the passing game and offensive line. Hopefully the red-zone offense will go from a weakness to a strength - more touchdowns and less field goals in 2013 and into the playoffs. That's going to make or break their Super Bowl aspirations. I'm confident the defense will be back in business this year.

I saw some guy on the Texans board saying that DJ Swearinger is the next Ed Reed. I told him, "are you crazy?" I'll be thrilled if that's true.

At least he'll get to learn from the future Hall of Famer this season. They are similar sizes coming out of college. Same type of ball-hawking skills and leadership abilities, but Ed Reed was a total game-changer and fierce competitor that opposing offenses had to game plan for. I do see some similarities in the two but we'll see.

I'll just be glad with a healthy Brian Cushing coming back. The Texans defense should be one of the best in the league if things go well. J.J. Watt jokingly said his goal is 25 sacks in 2013. LOL, I'm not sure how he can top his 20.5 sacks from last season but I wouldn't doubt it. The single-season sack record is still Michael Strahan with 22.5 sacks back in 2001 for the Giants.

Is the plan to start Sam Montgomery at outside linebacker as a rookie? What a beast he could be with Brooks Reed moving to inside linebacker next to Brian Cushing and Whitney Mercilus on the other side. That has the makings of a very strong pass rush. The sky is the limit for Montgomery if he plays hard. Trevardo Williams will rotate I'm sure. This was a very nice draft for Wade Phillips when you break it all down. Some of these guys are flat out thugs but I love it!

Ozoma Nwachukwu 6-1, 194 lbs(WR--Texas A&M)

I hope this kid can make the team. Too much competition at the position but you never know sometimes - great players keep working hard. The player I really want is the guy throwing him the football (Johnny Football), moving very well on the run or inside the pocket, the complete opposite of Matt Schaub. LOL
