It can definitely be debated, but I can't act like I / we weren't hyping him up all throughout this past season. Especially with performances like he had against Justin Jefferson
I think both corners are very good tbh. And the team picked the one that was willing to come back for less and is younger. No matter who is better between the two of them, the fact is they are just a better team with Slay, so he will be missed
He was terrific earlier in the season for sure. Definitely fell off later in the season though. Also, we have to remember he did draw opposing #1 a lot so he did get the tough matchups often. That game against Jefferson early on was a thing of beauty though.
But overall, there was a reason Bradberry was selected as an All-Pro and had insanely good numbers in coverage. Technically speaking, he was the better corner. Slay carries the bigger name though (hence why he was selected to the Pro Bowl and Bradberry wasn't).
Either way, there's no way the Eagles were going to keep him under his current cap hit, and he refused to restructure, and they weren't going to extend him for the guaranteed money he wanted at his age.
