Maybe I'm just ignorant about football in general, but why would you NOT run up the scoreboard given the option to do so?
I just don't want to get on the hype train when I feel like it's about to derail big time.
You surely won't deny that all games with the exception of the jags were close and could have gone the other way?
Yeah our games have been pretty close, and i'm sure if we had tried to run the scoreboard up we could have even lost those games. With the plays we use while ahead we run a lot of time off of the clock. Time that would still be on the clock if we were trying to run up the score and time that our opponents could use to beat us.
Not sure if you've ever played card games or not, but in most games there are varying types of play. Two of the more dominant strategies are Beatdown, where you just build up your offense and pound them into oblivion, and control, where you limit what you allow your opponent to do.
We are definitely a control type of team, not saying we can't beatdown the opponents, but its just not what our strategy is.
