Here's a link to the quick video/gif of Bortles dropping a dime to Lee in today's game.

It was beautiful. He looked right, did a quick pump fake before turning back to his left and throwing a fuckin strike. 50 yard bomb that was thrown on a line with guys in his face. Its been quite some time since I've seen a Jags QB make this kind of throw :hail:

The Jaguars started today at 75 players and must get down to 53 by Saturday at 4 p.m. Cornerback Aaron Colvin (knee) doesn't count against the 75 because he's on the non-football injury list and receiver Ace Sanders will move to the suspended list.

A list of cuts made by the Jaguars today:

C Mike Brewster: He started camp as the starting center but his struggles (bad snaps, bad blocks, etc.) saw him plummet down the depth chart. On July 30, Brewster was demoted to No. 2 center for one practice, but he started the first two preseason games. Last week at Detroit, Jacques McClendon started and Luke Bowanko was the No. 2, basically cementing Brewster's fate. Last night against Atlanta, Bowanko started (McClendon filled in for Zane Beadles at left guard) and Brewster played the second half, including a third bad shot-gun snap of the month.

QB Ricky Stanzi: The Jaguars wanted to go with three quarterbacks per multiple sources but injuries at other parts of the roster likely robbed them of some flexibility.

QB Stephen Morris (per Pro Football Talk): Signed as an undrafted free agent in mid-May, Morris brought with him experience in Jedd Fisch’s offense from their two years (2011-12) together at the University of Miami. The Jaguars like to have a developmental quarterback on the practice squad (it was Matt Scott last year) so expect them to keep Morris if he clears waivers.

FB Eric Kettani (per National Football Post): He was signed Aug. 20 when Bradie Ewing was waived/injured with a wrist injury. The Jaguars will have only one fullback on the roster (Will Ta’ufo’ou).

G Drew Nowak. Worked as the second-team left guard throughout training camp; the second straight year he's been among the final cuts.

DE Gerald Rivers. The Jaguars figured to keep four Leo pass-rushers and Rivers was always No. 5 on that list.

WR Chad Bumphis. The Jaguars still have six receivers on the roster and Bumphis was a long shot.

S Craig Loston. The former LSU came here in May with some fanfare because the Jaguars gave him a draftable grade (he wasn't drafted). But he didn't flash at all and then missed several weeks with a hamstring injury.

OT Cody Booth. Signed earlier this month when depth was needed.

DE DeAndre Coleman. He played for the Jaguars' staff at the Senior Bowl and was signed after going undrafted. Wasn't going to beat out Abry Jones or Ziggy Hood for a reserve DT spot.

DT Ricky Havili-Heimuli. Pretty much the same situation as Coleman.

K/P Kasey Redfern. The Jaguars were never going to keep an extra kicker, but Redfern could be back next week if Josh Scobee's quad injury doesn't improve.

G Tyler Shatley. An undrafted free agent, he never saw snaps with the first team.

TE D.J. Tialavea. An undrafted free agent, he played with the starters during the first two preseason games, but his play then either leveled off and tailed off.

LB Marcus Whitfield. The Jaguars figure to keep six linebackers and he was No. 8 on the list.

WR Tandon Doss (ankle) and CB Rashaad Reynolds (hand) were placed on the season-ending injured reserve list.

TE Brandon Barden (groin) was waived/injured.

Research shows Jaguars have second-youngest NFL roster

Per research last night from Philly.com, the Jaguars’ current 53-man roster is the NFL’s second-youngest.

The Jaguars’ average age is 25.2 years, behind only St. Louis (25.09).

After St. Louis and the Jaguars, Kansas City (25.34), Dallas (25.44) and Minnesota (25.58) round out the top five youngest clubs.

The five oldest clubs are San Diego (26.64), Indianapolis (26.66), Chicago (26.77), the Giants (26.75) and Oakland (27).

Last year at this time, the Jaguars were the fifth-youngest team (25.41) and two years ago, they were the 16th-youngest (26.06).

On the Jaguars’ current roster, there are …

Twelve rookies: Blake Bortles, Storm Johnson, Marcel Jensen, Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, Luke Bowanko, Josh Wells, Brandon Linder, Tyler Shatley, Chris Smith, Telvin Smith. (Rookie Aaron Colvin is on the non-football injury list).

Ten second-year players: Denard Robinson, Carson Tinker, Luke Joeckel, Abry Jones, LaRoy Reynolds, Josh Evans, Dwayne Gratz, Jeremy Harris, Demetrius McCray and Johnathan Cyprien. (Ace Sanders is on the suspended list).
