Cobb would have risen either way. The one who really got the most of it is Jones, since now he can be more of a #1/2 and let people see the talent that Rodgers saw when he pushed for the team to resign him.
People can comment all they want about the losses to SF/Seattle, but we all know this team is playing at an entirely different level right now, especially Rodgers.
potentially... in hindsight of course you can say that. but at the time, there was no way you could have foreseen his blossoming into such a prolific triple threat. we knew he had skill, but the rapport he has developed with rodgers lately has been astonishing.
and jones has never been more than a #2. i would argue thats the reason why he's been so successful is due to the attention being diverted from him because of the top wideouts being covered more heavily. still, he has really matured since last season (can't recall how many drops he had but it was ridiculous) and is a big asset from here on out, regardless of how healthy the rest of the WR corps is.
and yes, they are on another level, but the first half of the season only matters so much bc 5-7 games are divisional coming up and those are the games that will dictate if we play into january
