What's the deal with Toby Gerhart? Should I draft him in ~early round 5?

Just did a mock where I went Calvin - D Thomas - D Brees - Gronk - Gerhart.

What should I expect from him? Is the o-line going to be improved this year?

All the talk is that he's looking good and will carry most of the load. He says he wants 20-25 carries a game (which RB doesn't) and it's kind of been hinted at that he'll receive a lot of them. They consider him a 3 down back, so he should be catching some passes as well. There's other RBs on the roster that should be getting some touches as well though.

Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman are the speed backs. 7th round draft pick Storm Johnson will be backing up Gerhart. They'll be more of the inside, one cut and go guys. Gerhart should still get the majority of the carries, as is assumed right now, but only time will tell.

I can't remember the exact %, but in an interview our OC said he'd like to have a pretty balanced Offense. Something like a 55/45 pass/run. That'll all depend on if we're getting behind early though and have to throw. They want to be able to pound the ball.

The OL should definitely be improved over last year, but they're still pretty young. It's going to take them a little time to build that chemistry as the season gets going.

Joeckel will be back at LT, after breaking his ankle in week 5. Beadles is the old vet on the line at LG. Signed in FA this off season, this will be his 5th year in the league. Mike Brewster will finally get his shot starting at C. This will be his 3rd year in the league and it's his job to lose. Rookie G Brandon Linder and G Jacques McClendon (4th year) will battle for RG. Assumed the rookie Linder should win the job. And 3rd year Austin Pasztor will stay at RT after taking over there at week 5 last season.

We definitely have a WR curse or something ffs.

TE Clay Harbor is going to miss 4-6 weeks with a calf strain as well.

Right now, it's news when a Jaguars receiver practices.

The bad luck the position group endured in the offseason program has showed back up in training camp.

The latest setback involves rookie Allen Robinson and free-agent signee Tandon Doss. Both were injured in Thursday's practice and will miss what the Jaguars describe as "an extended period of time, at least two weeks."

Already in camp the Jaguars have dealt with Ace Sanders leaving for personal reasons as he prepares for a four-game suspension to start the season. Cecil Shorts, the team's leading receiver, is already out for a couple of weeks from a hamstring injury suffered last week.

Robinson also strained his hamstring. He was forced into the starting lineup with Shorts and Sanders out.
Doss sprained his ankle on the final play of Thursday's practice. He was considered the favorite to be the team's punt returner with Sanders out.

The bad news for the receivers didn't end there. Rookie Damian Copeland missed Friday's practice with a wrist injury, he's listed as day-to-day, and second-round pick Marqise Lee was given the day off.

All the turmoil has left the Jaguars with this group of receivers at Friday's practice: Allen Hurns, Mike Brown, Kerry Taylor, Chad Bumphis, Lamaar Thomas and Nathan Slaughter.

In other injury news:

-Rookie right guard Brandon Linder missed Friday's practice and is day-to-day with a foot sprain.

-Linebacker John Lotulelei (knee sprain) and defensive tackle Jordan Miller (knee) are out for an extended period of time, according to the Jaguars.

-Right tackle Austin Pasztor, running back Toby Gerhart, defensive tackle Roy Miller and defensive end Tyson Alualu were given a veteran's day off on Friday.
