Of course it has to be racialized, because why not. Again, see David dorn the black man from st Louis attempting to protect a friend's business, who then was murdered by rioters. Did anyone give a fuck about him? Was it his fault he was murdered because he "knowingly went into a hostile situation"? How about the other cities that were burning where business owners trying to defend their properties get the piss kicked out of them for trying to stop people from looting? They shouldn't have attempted to stop rioters, they must have been asking for it
I am literally not disagreeing with anyone here about him defending himself. Which is funny. I brought up the race thing because THAT is the other side of the story. I've kept that out for the most part. I just think dude.. brought his gun... live by the word, die by the sword... he knew what he was getting into.. thats why he brought the gun. he was looking to use it.
