You could make an argument that, that call jump started them in that 2nd half though.
That call was made on the 2nd play of that drive and if not called, that play was an incomplete. Would have been 3rd and 7 at their own 28 yard line. Instead that bogus penalty gave them a free 1st down and put them at their own 43 yard line.
Here's how their possessions were before that series with the bogus roughing penalty (all in the 2nd half).... Punt, FG, Turnover on Downs and INT.
Then they had that bogus penalty on their next series which jumped started everything and they scored a TD on all of their next 3 possessions (including that one).
It wasn't the reason they won that game, but it definitely had a big part in swinging the momentum in the Pats favor.
