It's not really collusion. The Patriots are just the benefactors of biased officiating. Everyone knows the Patriots are the team the NFL wants in the Super Bowl for ratings/revenue, so it's logical that they would receive the calls necessary to get them there. It's not like the Patriots are working with the NFL to get these calls.

I agree with the sentiment. What's debatable is how far they go with it.

Let me ask about this though: Which came first, the Pats getting helped along to wins because they generate more revenue OR them being a bigger ratings draw because of all the success they had? Up until the tuck rule game, the Pats were a pedestrian franchise. Did the league decide prior to that game to make a concerted effort to spend the next 20 years building up that market?



All 32 owners have meetings every year in which they collude. They collude to get better TV deals and keep player salaries down. The commissioner is an employee of theirs who has a part to play in that process.

Belichick led Al-Qaeda to do 9/11 so that Bush would order the NFL to make sure the Patriots win the Super Bowl.

Peyton Manning, actually. He just really needed that week off from football. Weird way to go about it, but it worked.

Success comes before preferential treatment, of course. Once Belichick and Brady retire, they'll go back to being a pedestrian franchise as far as the league's officiating is concerned.

Maybe this is why BB thought it was so important to keep Garoppolo as Brady's successor. Wherever he plays is sure to makes Super Bowls. There's no way the league will pass up on the chance to plaster that face all over the media as much as possible.
