Remember when Chip Kelly was rebuilding the Dream Team?

I feel like he deserved another season or two to implement his ideas, tbh. Never been a fan of rapid coach turnover. Also got shorted in SF where expectations were unrealistic given the complete lack of talent.

....Chip was with the Eagles for 3 seasons, and they literally got worse and worse.

They went 10-6 his first two seasons, when he still had a lot of Andy's leftover players. Then once he made all of his moves and got "his" guys, the team went down the shitter again and only won 6 games.

Make no mistake about it, he needed to go rofl.

I think the evidence of going 10-6 the first two seasons is enough to give him an opportunity to actually turn over the team, provided he talked it over with management (which I cannot imagine he would not have done).

You of all people should be able to acknowledge a new coach riding the talent of a team to a nice record his first couple seasons. I don't want to name any names but I am sure you can figure out who I am alluding to.

I mean, when you look back at record and all you would think "okay give him one more year" but at the time the team was a complete mess.

First of all, he had full player personnel control and was making some REALLY wild decisions that pissed the players off. The team was divided, the front office began to hate him, etc, etc. the list goes on.

I think the problem is that he thought he was much smarter than he really was. The guy was a great football mind no doubt, but he got really arrogant and tried to do shit that just doesn't fly in the NFL (like cutting key players to make statements).

Raiders haven't had a few nice seasons in a long fucking time ._. Unless you mean Gruden, who took a 4-12 Oakland team and had 4 good seasons before Callahan derped into the Super Bowl for one good season before Rich Gannon had two season-ending injuries.

I was referring to Gruden who took an already successful and well-established squad and rode it to the SB before the team fell apart. It's not unheard of and I can see where SeanSixers is coming from with his comment.

Gruden took a bad Raiders team and made it good, then was fired by Undead Al Davis because Davis was an insecure twat. Gruden went to the Bucs and did get an already established team that he then won the Super Bowl with. He was basically playing his team against his team. He went on to have a mediocre time with the Bucs, making the playoffs 2-3 more times before retiring. But I think his success with the Raiders prior to the Bucs job shows that he's more than a lucky ride.

I can see where DM is coming from and I'm not saying ER MAH GERD UR WRONG IM RITE, I'm just saying I have a different opinion of what could have happened.
