14. Oakland Raiders (7-9) – LB, SS, DE, C, WR, RB, OT, CB
SS > LB > RB > WR (KR/PR). Any new DE would work rotation snaps. We've still got a starting C and both OTs now, and CB depth but could always look for potential elite talent. Our OL is actually super solid.
NFL offenses require a 3rd WR. We don't really have one. Sure we have players who can fill the void but we don't have three strong WRs. But more than that, we're going to need a 2nd RB for change of pace, sharing the load, and in case of injury. Right now if Murray goes down, our backup plan is either to feed our fullbacks or just abandon the running game. Very shallow at that position.
Safety is a bigger concern than LB. We've got Malcom Smith and Bruce Irvin to cover the outsides, and the MLB spot can be somewhat disregarded because of the help we can provide from other places (against the run, solid DTs. against the pass, help from S/OLBs/pass rush). Safety, however, does a lot of work in our scheme working over the top and covering deep WRs/TEs 1 on 1. Really need to lock down that position with someone who can ball hawk. The need here is very dependent on whether or not we're considering T.J. Carrie a CB or a S. He played well at CB last year and could easily be our reliable nickle back, meaning CB is fairly well covered. Or if he stays at safety, we have a serviceable option for a starter. I really like him as a CB, so I'm pulling for some consideration at S.
Our return game is actually garbage though. We REALLY need some help there. Granted, not the most important position on the field. But that big German guy...
