Except the browns never do, since rejoining the nfl in 2001, the browns haven't drafted a qb higher than 22, despite picking in the top 10 almost every year. With the defensive line being as bad as it is there's no way they pass on an ohio native DE to come in and try to shore that up. I'll leave you alone and stop spamming your topic, I enjoy these :)

Except couch obviously :P

No no please, I enjoy actually have discussion about stuff rather than the usual "MY TEAM WOULD NEVER DO THIS BITCH MOAN COMPLAIN WHY ISN"T THIS GUY HERE AND BLAH BLAH BLAH!!".

But, my only response to the whole since rejoining haven't drafted a qb higher than 22, how's that worked out thus far? :D :P

But yes, I could see them going with McCown, drafting Bosa in the first and then Cardale later and any other OSU player they could get. Just keep all Ohio natives/OSU players in Ohio.

EDIT: Next week, assuming Bosa is available at 2, I'll put him on the Browns and see how things turn out. :)

If you guys can't get Goff, Lynch or Wentz then I can't see you guys taking one in the first. Cook isn't a first rounder but we'll see how the next few months play out and he may sneak back into first round consideration making him an option. Then in the second only 1 of those 4 are really worth it for a second. You have a few third round options but nothing that's much better than what might be available in the 4th. Brissett and Cardale are still available in this mock along with Hogan who, imo, could a massive steal this year. So after the top 3/4, the drop off is rather huge and Keenum could be a serviceable option if you can't get anyone in FA. Mannion might be worth giving a legit shot too. I was super high on him last year. Cutler isn't going anywhere the Bears already said. Stafford, although I've played with the idea in mocks, likely won't be moved either. Brees is going with Payton so if you guys get Payton then yeah I could easily see that one happening.

Johnny is gone. The only thing keeping him in Cleveland was Pettine so that one is right out the window. McCown is definitely an option but if they have a shot at a legit QB prospect like Goff I can't see them passing on it. It'd be a mistake if they did imo. A bigger mistake than making all those moves 2 years ago just to end up with Gilbert and Manziel....

EDIT:

It's more others are rising. He could easily be taken in the first, I don't think many would argue that, but there are better prospects out there.

If Fisher is still our coach, which is fairly probable at this moment, I see us going into next season with keenum as our starter.

But for the sake of us having a winning season, I really hope that isn't the case. We won't be playing in January if keenum is our starter, it's that simple.

I mean shit, the redskins have made the playoffs twice since the rg3 trade and the rams haven't once, and the rams raped that trade. It's so depressing.

If you wanna debate it I have a plethora of reasons why they wouldn't take qb #2.

They have a former first round pick on the roster, who the owner went out of his way to draft and is completely in love with

There are plenty of decent prospects who can be taken later in the draft with similar ceilings to Lynch.

There are plenty of decent FA QBS hitting free agency that would be serviceable and the browns have tons of cap room

The team has way more pressing needs which could be filled with more "can't miss" prospects than a guy who had randomly skyrocketed draft boards due to firings

And the last reason, which is a bit more abstract: the browns will more than likely suck again next year. New coach, overpaid overrated secondary, this year can be used to go 2-14, gut the roster, and hope for that "can't miss" guy next year (luck, winston, newton, one of those)

That's the thing though, next year's QB class likely wont be any better than this year's class.

See I didn't know that, I don't start watching much college fb until the browns are out of contention lol (usually by week 10 or 11)

I think the new coach has to see what johnny's got... handled differently i think he can remain with the team. pettine didn't like him and thus essentially ignored his off field shenanigans, i think there's a good chance haslam is going to WANT a hc who WANTS to stick with billyfootball.

you think nkemdiche at 10 is a reach? i wouldnt be surprised to see him go there

i also dont like the 2nd round pick, i'd rather a guard over a tackle, beatty and flowers are fine at tackle

also i love hackenberg to houston, if anyone can make a quarterback out of him its obrein

Why do you see the Raiders going for a RB in the 2nd round after Latavius Murray finished 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards? Not saying it's wrong, just curious as to who this guy is and what he brings.
/e
Another cool thing you could do is mock free agency. Either just "this guy probably goes here", or do it in draft order (e.x. Titans get to pick whatever FA they want, etc.).
