I don't think people realize gun laws/ taking away guns are only gonna keep the "good guys" from getting the guns....especially in a world where you can 3d print guns while the technology just advances. Nothing will ever stop a monster from being a monster. But the only way to stop a monster with a gun, is a "good guy" with a gun. These things are always gonna happen unless we become a full on 1984 surveillanced policed ai state, minority report type shindig...which in terms of that, I think I'd much prefer the chaos as tragic as it all is.
And while people blame the guns before the bodies are even cold, I believe Chicago is stopping their shotspotter program. I didn't even know this was a thing, but if a gun shot is heard in the city they have microphones of some sort that can pinpoint where the shot was heard within 80ft of accuracy. What's the reasoning for getting rid of this system that alerts police before people can call 911? Well racism of course, or so says the mayor. This seems like a pretty good system to have in large cities with large amounts of gun crime but I also don't know very much about the system or how invasive it is
