OWINGS MILLS -- Baltimore Ravens rookie cornerback Jimmy Smith announced on his Twitter account that he'll sign his contract Friday.
The Ravens haven't been overly concerned about the first-round draft pick's status as he missed only one practice and should be able to get on the field today at team headquarters. Smith is the Ravens' lone unsigned draft pick.
"Ok.. its official I sign tomoro," Smith wrote on his official Twitter account.
No financial terms were immediately available.
Meanwhile, the Ravens made a handful of procedural moves to open training camp.
Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, who had his hamstring wrapped up at the first practice, was placed on the active non-football injury list.
He can be activated from that list at any time. Often, players are given that designation if they don't pass their physical or their conditioning test.
The following players were placed on the physically unable to perform list: offensive guard Ben Grubbs (ankle surgery), offensive tackle Ramon Harewood (knees), wide receiver David Reed (wrist) and defensive tackle Brandon McKinney.
