That doesn't mean he'll be calling the plays. He'll make the decisions to go for it on 4th downs probably, but for the most part it will be up to the OC to call all the plays. Will they be in touch during the game? Of course. They will both know what the Offensive game plans will be. Mularkey called the plays when he was the HC for the Bills. He said he feels that was a mistake. He said he now knows what he should and shouldn't have did when he was the HC for the Bills. He said trying to manage the game and call the plays is something he doesn't feel he can do very successfully. Some HCs can and some can't. He knows that one miss manage of the game, can cost you the game. He doesn't feel he would be as successful trying to manage the game and call the plays.
