He gets traded to Minnesota and things don't go well for him there. He talks in that press conf about how that second stint with the Vikings made him appreciate what things were like in New England.
Now take the Collins situation. Belichick trades him to, of all places, Cleveland. Arguably the most dysfunctional organization in the NFL. Collins goes from winning every week to losing every week. He will have to watch his "teammates" go to the playoffs without him. Perhaps Bill is hoping that that experience will make Collins appreciate what things were like in New England and be willing to lower his contract demands. That way they can resign him next year and he will come in more focused.
