there has to be some piece of info that I critically don't have access to about this move. We traded Collins for a 3rd or 4th. If we had let Collins walk at the end of the season, we would have gotten 8 more weeks of Collins' play (+playoffs). The half season seems more valuable to me.

The first possibility that comes to mind if that this trade is Bill's way of sending a message to the rest of his team. If word had spread around the locker room that Collins was asking for "Von Miller money" as reports said, then Bill might wanna shut that down right away. And maybe Collins was getting too complacent in his role or something.

no what are they?

another thought that comes to mind: Randy Moss' press conferece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Skw-yZuF090

He gets traded to Minnesota and things don't go well for him there. He talks in that press conf about how that second stint with the Vikings made him appreciate what things were like in New England.

Now take the Collins situation. Belichick trades him to, of all places, Cleveland. Arguably the most dysfunctional organization in the NFL. Collins goes from winning every week to losing every week. He will have to watch his "teammates" go to the playoffs without him. Perhaps Bill is hoping that that experience will make Collins appreciate what things were like in New England and be willing to lower his contract demands. That way they can resign him next year and he will come in more focused.

Collins on the second play of the game does whatever he wants and Bills gain 28 yards. Been happening all year. It was not going to continue

Not surprised by the Pats trading Colllins. Not been playing well at all they need to get the defense fixed. This will get their attention

He said more too, on The Herd w/ Colin Cowherd I think

^ BB just has a no tolerance policy with people going off script it seems. We'll see how we look against Seattle, hopefully we can get the D into shape come January. As we're now, I see us getting knocked out in the AFCCG again.

who's going to knock us out? Steelers? Raiders? Broncos? Idk. I think this offense can carry us hard, remember we could get Dion Lewis back in the next few weeks

Denver is still my biggest concern. I'm not sure our offensive line can holdup. That means our defense will need to step up big with at least a couple of turnovers for us to win.
