It was just a slow start (i hope), but our starting rotation is shitty after Tilman.. We beat the Yankees though in this series, so that felt good.

Not sure why the Brewers are good... I expect them to fall back down to earth soon enough

gallardo is overperforming

our MRP suck jim henderson is finally getting back to form though so our back end is good

our 1-4 SPs can be pretty dominant for the NL and wily peralta is a wildcard as long as we keep our offense hot we should be a playoff contender this year

suddenly our once last ranked Oline is going to be good as fuck

It's really a win-win either way, whether we get Mack or not. You know we'll be drafting at least one Guard as well regardless.

Some numbers are starting to come out.

Quote
Although Alex Mack has not signed an offer sheet with the Jaguars, contractual details are starting to trickle out.

Per an NFL.com report, the five-year deal will be worth $42 million, but the key elements are $18 million over the first two years and Mack has the ability to opt out after the second year and not be tagged by Cleveland (should it match) or the Jaguars (if he is allowed to join them).

Presented with the numbers, a league source said the Browns would "probably" match, citing the need for maligned owner Jimmy Haslam to create positive publicity for his struggling franchise.

Regardless of what happens, it was a pro-active move by the Jaguars.

General manager Dave Caldwell was in Atlanta’s front office three years ago when the Falcons made a move on Draft Day that was equal parts bold and sensible.

The Falcons sat at No. 26 in the first round and coveted a receiver to play opposite Roddy White and be another target for quarterback Matt Ryan.

Atlanta traded with Cleveland to move up 20 spots to take Alabama receiver Julio Jones. The Falcons gave up five picks – two firsts, two fourths and one third. But Caldwell said the Falcons reasoned that the 2012 draft wouldn’t be deep with receivers (they were right) and their pick would be late in the round (they were right – No. 22).

Relating that to the Jaguars-Mack situation, they may feel the 2014 and 2015 drafts aren’t strong at the center spot and combined with the lack of in-house experience, Mack was worth signing to an offer sheet.

I wish they would have packed more poison into that deal. Not sure what the rules are these days with transition tags though, so they probably can't fuck the Browns over too much.

Also a good deal for Mack: Getting 18 mil over 2 years with the ability to opt out after that and become a UFA? Holy win.

Yea the Browns can easily match the deal if they want. I'm not sure of the rules either, but I guess Mack is a little upset about being transition tagged and not franchise tagged. Rumor is he doesn't really want to play for the Browns.

It's up to what the Browns think is for the better. Locking up Mack for at least the next 2 years and lose a nice chunk of money. Or save it because they're going to need a lot of it in these next 1-2 years. They got some other guys who are gonna wanna get paid
