this team has more question marks than an English test
defense has more holes than swiss cheese
defensive coordinator is soft as butter and looks like the gerber baby

Houston texans are still good though. 2nd best team in Texas

This was from Tuesday but all I want for Christmas is a win over the Patriots tomorrow night. A 12-1 record and closer to clinching the 1st seed.

I still remember that 40-7 beat down Tom Brady and the Patriots gave the Texans at Foxboro back in 2006.

That was back when we had a backfield of David Carr and Ron Dayne. It was Gary Kubiak's first season as head coach.

I'm expecting a much better game this time around. LOL

Sunday's game against the Colts can't arrive soon enough. I'm ready to look past that awful showing on Monday Night and watch the Texans clinch the AFC South and still control the AFC's 1st seed going into the final two games of the season. The Texans do not want to travel to Foxboro for the playoffs. In two regular-season games there, they have been out-scored 82-21 -- 42-14 in 2012 and the 40-7 loss in 2006. They can't compete in that stadium and would have a much better chance to beat the Patriots, or any other AFC team in the playoffs if the game is in Houston.

Too much football left to be played before the playoffs start. All the Texans need to focus on is improving as a team. They've put themselves in a position to do some great things this year. All of the costly injuries on defense and embarrassments in the two games on National TV against the Patriots and Packers should only fuel their desire to play a lot better once the playoffs start. They know they'll get their asses handed to them if they don't play with a lot more passion and energy.

I'm most disappointed with the Texans offense because unlike the defense they have been fortunate enough to stay healthy all year long. They've still been inconsistent despite having as much talent as any offense in the league. It's time they start to play for a full 60 minutes. They go one or two quarters in some games scoring zero points. That's crazy for an offense this good.

Texans challenged by Kubiak after eye-opening loss

Quote
After suffering their worst loss since 2008, Texans players said coach Gary Kubiak issued a challenge to the entire team in the visitors’ locker room at Gillette Stadium.

“(Kubiak) wasn’t pleased with the performance that we came out with, not at all,” safety Danieal Manning said after the game. “He basically was saying if we’re going to be a championship team, we have to face teams like this. We have to go through situations that we were in and we have to deal with things that were out in front of us. We didn’t handle the way that a championship (team) did. They did."

“It’s a challenge from tomorrow throughout the rest of the season. It’s a challenge, what type of team we’re going to be. All that other stuff we’ve got, clinching, playoff berth, it doesn’t matter. We’ve got to continue to stack wins – win until we can’t win anymore.”

Gary Kubiak can call out his players and question their manhood all he wants (which he did after the loss to New England), but he's the one calling the plays. The Texans offense has become too predictable and boring. You can beat the bad teams with the same plays but an elite team featuring a good defense will shut you down if you don't adjust. It's time for Kubiak to really mix things up and make sure he utilizes a lot of Andre Johnson and Arian Foster. When the times get tough just make sure you put your superstars in a position to make the big plays.

At the end of the day, the Texans are still where they want to be. They've got to finish these last three regular-season games with a win and try to build some momentum for the playoffs. Having a first-round bye and gearing up for a home playoff game, possibly two home playoff games, that's all that you can really control moving forward.
