Doesn’t matter who the backup is, Wilson goes down the seasons over. Never understood why people care who the backup is for players like Rodgers, Wilson, or any high level QB.

A good backup QB can win a few games until the starter gets back. That can save your season.

The Nick Foles winning the SB situation is not really why you have a backup; it's just to steal a game or two if your starter is out a few weeks.

This. If the teams not good enough to beat bad teams using a backup, they weren't good enough to make a real run anyway. You're most likely not going to beat top competitors with a backup, but as Terps said, sneaking out a few wins when your starter is out for 2-6 weeks, can make your season.

Every once in awhile you get a backup anomaly like Foles or Brady, but that's not how shit usually works.
