@jasonjwilde
Nick Perry just said the #NFL fines him $15,000 for his hit on Andrew Luck. He said he will appeal. #Packers

By rule, you can not hit a defenseless player with the crown of your helmet.

I'm not saying I agree with the call, it however is in the rule book and by the way of the hit, it was with the crown of his helmet. Now I do not believe he was trying to kill luck and say it should not have been a penalty.

However, I believe they should take the fine away.

You're absolutely correct, but I thought the defenseless player designation only applied to somebody catching the ball?

Yeah so did I, but I guess in regards to the quarterback just standing there, I don't know.

I don't agree with it either, I mean how the heck do you hit the quarterback hard cleanly then? I think it's just the rule where it's based on an officials eyes, some might call and some might not..

Gray area rule*

Only thing I can come up with is they saw helmet to helmet and went with that. I've rewatched it 100 times on Rewind, and Perry initially hit's him on the right side of the ball with his facemask, and driving through Luck is what causes the crown of the helmet to even make contact to Luck. Shame, since that would have set them up with the ball in the redzone already...

In most cases it should have been 24-3 at that point or 28-3.

We can't dwell on the past however, gotta beat the texans. :)

Yep. As much of a must-win as you can have in Week 6... This is typically when MM's teams are at their best though, so here's hoping we can shock the world and get rolling.

True that, and I don't understand why everybody is raging hardcore on the coaching staff.

Let's be honest, Rodgers hasn't played for shit this year yet (At least not through a full game, he looks flustered 1-2 quarters a game) also had we held the lead and not lost against the silly call in Seattle we'd be 4-1.

Just a thought :) So I mean, yes we are 2-3, we could be 4-1 easily and there would be no panic from the fans.

I'm just trying to stay really optimistic haha

You can blame just about everybody, but obviously no single area is at fault. The entire team has to start playing a full four quarters. But yeah, Aaron's decision making thus far has been awful. At times, he's just refusing to take what's given to him underneath and wants to Favre it into double coverage...
