I'm hating how strict magazines/journals are about publishing papers. I figured trimming a 27 page paper down to 20 pages wouldn't be that hard, but now that I actually have to do it, I feel like I'm cutting out some pretty important stuff -_-

If you're tying to mimic the media, just cut out all the facts and it should be easy.
