All bs aside tho bout or qb situation I think what I'm most looking forward to is our defense. With our fa signings tuck etc and now Mack and a hopefully 100% Hayden and one last good year from chuckgod I think we have a decent defense for once in YEARS.
The FA pickups for CB will hopefully fix up our terrible deep protection. Now the only question is how the LB coverage unit will improve from last season. Hopefully we'll have some extra pass rush as well.
Should be good to go against KC/SF/SEA's ground game, since we had a solid rush defense last year and should only improve this one, despite playing against good rushing teams. Just can't let ourselves get cut up by giving up a ton of yards through the air again.
Thing I'm most looking forward to watching is development of our few young starters. Streater, Hayden, Moore, and Rivera are the players I'm most excited (and concerned) about. Streater looked good and should only be getting better going forward. Could be an anchor point on our WR line for several years. Doesn't seem to have the speed for a true #1, but is a really nice possession guy. Sio Moore looked solid last season as LB, and I think he has a bright future ahead of him. Will try to watch more closely this season as he progresses. Rivera has been a huge surprise to me. Amazing receiving TE from what I saw, really elevates to get the ball and catches with soft hands. Drops a few but catches away from his body, which is big for a young, raw player. Unsure as to his ability to run block. Hayden scares me. He was pretty terrible last season, and we NEED some youth talent in our DB. Branch and Woodson aren't getting any younger. Hopefully under Woodson's watchful eye Hayden can develop into a solid CB for us, but from what I saw last season I'm a bit worried in this regard.
