anyone have some game suggestions for me to look at for the xbox one?

i bought myself one for christmas, and really have only used it to watch movies.

don't suggest sports games, because i'd just assume wait for the next version to come out in 6 months.

i'm thinking about getting that "shadow of mordor" game since it's only $30. is gta5 worth rebuying on next gen? what about the new dragon age game?

Shadow of mordor is good especially for 30 bucks, the combat system (a la batman) can get a bit boring once you have the mechanics down though. GTA is a good remake, they added an awesome first person mode and it's pretty impressive. Dragon age was game of the year for multiple publications so if high fantasy rpgs pique your interest i'd say it's a safe bet.

Shadow of Mordor is fun but way too easy. I took off all the combat hints / queues (like the one that pops up to tell you when to press the counter button) just to keep it challenging. I did enjoy it enough to 100% though.

The next two I pick up will be Evolve and DBZ.

If you can catch it on sale, Titanfall is a great game. It's suffering from low population now, but I've seen it as low as $15.

There was just a sale for the game w/ season pass for 12 dollars. Idk if it's still going on or not though.

Farcry 4 has probably been my favorite Xbox one game so far, it's awesome.
Dying light is also a fun game I reccommend both of them.

Had to give a speech in one of my classes. Decided to get it done early just to have it out of the way.

Went pretty good. I gave an invective speech condemning my university for having the shittiest fucking parking situation, esp. for handi-lads. I think showing my own genuine rage made it a spirited speech.

I want to get Shadow but not going to bother until it's like $30 or less, my brother who sucks at gaming (for the most part), said it was an easy game, which really worries me lol. Dl for Evolve is going tonight, I'll be on tomorrow after work and then next on Monday. Still unsure about DBZ. I want to pick it up if you're grabbing it but I'm not sure, I didn't like the last few I played but I haven't done a fighter game forever, might be fun for me to play something I'm bad at, I've always been trash at fighting games. Only Soul Caliber 2 and the original MK was I any good at. Only other fighting game which doesn't really fall into the same category of fighting games that I still enjoy to this day is Super Smash Bros on the N64, I'm a monster at that but it's hard to find good people to play against. I've met a couple random people at the bar and played with them later that night all drunk at a buddies house and it was always a blast. I'm still undefeated against my group of friends on my main though, still waiting for one of them to beat me.

Titanfall was amazing. I'm still impressed with that game and I wish they would have just marketed a bit better. I honestly believe had they introduced customs at release, it would have done much better. You lose a huge market by not doing that. No one wants to watch streams of people pub stomping and it had nothing to do once you got maxed on prestige. I'm hoping the second one is a huge hit, COD/Halo need to die and I think Respawn has the best chance of making that happen.

SoM will depend on how much patience you have for replaying games. You can either breeze through it once and then do things the difficult way, or make it harder to start. Like I said, you can set it so that none of the "Look at this giant 'Y' button above an enemy's head as they come towards you and that's how you know to counter" stuff pops up. There's also some user-generated challenges, like not taking any of the skills that make combat easier or not using any runes. The ability to make combat challenging is there, it's just not in the typical setting of menu -> difficulty setting.

Personally, the combat itself wasn't what kept me around. What hooked me on it was the first 30 minutes - killed a captain, tried to get another, got into a huge battle with 2 more, and when I finally got away from those 3 who had chased me all over the map for 15+ minutes, the one I killed before those 3 found me / had come back. I ended up killing him at least 4 times before I finally took his head off.
