I feel it was going to be won by the defense regardless but the prosecutor was so utterly incompetent its astounding
I sat on a jury where a guy robbed a place that generally carries alot of cash. And he used a note and that's all. The prosecutor was trying to argue he used threat of force to coerce the clerk in order to hit him with a bigger charge that carried a 20 year sentence instead of 4 for the lesser charge. So at the end during the prosecutors closing arguments, mind you this is a kid maybe 24-25 years old clearly fresh out of law school tried to make one of those dramatic speeches you see in the movies, ends up actually coming off as more aggressive and threatening towards the jury than what we could see in the evidence (and whether there was a threat of harm was the deciding factor) and we all easily Unanimously voted the lesser charge almost solely because how incompetent the prosecutor was at making his case. We prob would have dismissed all charges had dude worn a mask and we not been able to identify him clearly on video lmfao
To the point, as soon as the judge read off the verdict the public defender not even listening to the judge cuz it was a slam dunk case expecting to lose tried to call for one of those counting vote things but the judge was like you know you won right?
