All damn day as rusty as shit was. I spent more time trying to remove the rusty ring that locks the fuel pump in then I did doing everything else. Had it all been easy to unbolt and if I knew when I started what I know now, about 2 hours probably, but I spent about 7 or 8... lol but the mechanic wanted $350 for fuel pump and like $250-300 to install it. I bought the part online for $118 and $40 of that was overnight shipping and did the work myself.

Yea they wanted close to a grand to do it on one of my cars a few years back. The car was only worth about a grand. Shits outrageous sometimes. Even though it took you that long you still saved a ton.

Fuel filters are always intimidating because one wrong spark and you're fucked lol

I was looking for a brass punch so as to avoid sparks, but I couldn't find one. I just wrapped a tshirt around all the tubes a few times and let her rip with all kinds of shit and had sparks and a little smoke a few times.. I hit it with all kinds of punches, crowbars sledgehammers and it wouldn't budge. Lol my buddy who brought the liquid wrench said "well you have lived a good life. Can I take some weed before I call the cops after you blow up?" Hahaha

Hahaha! Yea I have a brass punch and brass hammer and I was still nervous about blowing myself up! Before my pops died we worked on cars all the time. Changing my brakes last month was the first time I worked on a car since he passed though, just isn't the same without him calling me retarded.

I like your buddy's priorities! What are you growing this time of year?
