One of my oldest memories is playing Quake 1 on the PC with my dad. I would control the player movement keys while he controlled the mouse to shoot lol. I was too scared to play by myself because I was like 4 or 5.

I've still got my N64 stuff, some back in Wa and some down in NM. I bought an N64 with 4 controllers, Mario kart + Super Smash for $100, Smash + MK alone are worth $115 - $130. I know I've still got a decent collection of retro gaming stuff up north, I just have no idea where it is or what kind of shape it'll be in.
Not sure what the deal is with them refusing to release Crash on Ps4, seems like it'd be an easy way to make some decent cash. Sony is just really against the backwards compatibility concept, both these gen consoles are a huge downgrade from their predecessors imo. Less functionality, fewer games (to be expected with newer consoles, but there have been few games with any replay value released), no nostalgia factor, and a party system/interface that is just clunky and riddled with problems. Really, Sony and a lot of these companies are just going full retarded. Not sure what the latest on the FF7 remake is, but last I heard was it was going to be released in installments, it was going to be absolutely nothing like the original with combat, more of a Kingdom Hearts thing and the total cost was going to be around $200+. It's like they just want to piss people off lol. There's nothing wrong with a turnbased system, just increase the base speed a bit, add in some new materia/enemies, maybe throw in a couple of puzzles to make it a little more interesting and some end game bosses. Boom, you just sold 50 million copies, you're welcome.
I never did play with my dad on the PS, I played a lot of twisted metal with my brother and neighbor, I was pretty boss at the game. I think the reaper and tank were my best, but it's been so long that it's hard to remember exactly. I played a lot with my dad when I was really little, like on NES and things like that, and then I probably didn't game with him again until I had an Xbox and we played Halo together. That didn't last long and after a couple games I was no longer allowed to shoot. When I was like 15 or 16 though and pretty damn good at gaming (playing 8-14 hours a day on average), my dad picked up an odyssey 2 and we played a bunch of that together. He straight kicked my ass at every single game on there lol.
I'm surprised any old person can do a FPS like Halo. My dad sucks at anything that isn't TM2 or Pong lol
