One of my oldest memories is playing Quake 1 on the PC with my dad. I would control the player movement keys while he controlled the mouse to shoot lol. I was too scared to play by myself because I was like 4 or 5.

I honestly don't know why I still have my Ps4, played it like a few times the past 3 months. No fucking backwards compatibility, at least the ps3 does

My ps3 does not, which I wish I had known before I bought it... <_<

Damn... I didn't realize those went for so much, I had 2x copies of red/blue/yellow and the original release Japanese version Gold/Silver. I'll have to check around at my parents house next time I'm there lol.

I've still got my N64 stuff, some back in Wa and some down in NM. I bought an N64 with 4 controllers, Mario kart + Super Smash for $100, Smash + MK alone are worth $115 - $130. I know I've still got a decent collection of retro gaming stuff up north, I just have no idea where it is or what kind of shape it'll be in.

Not sure what the deal is with them refusing to release Crash on Ps4, seems like it'd be an easy way to make some decent cash. Sony is just really against the backwards compatibility concept, both these gen consoles are a huge downgrade from their predecessors imo. Less functionality, fewer games (to be expected with newer consoles, but there have been few games with any replay value released), no nostalgia factor, and a party system/interface that is just clunky and riddled with problems. Really, Sony and a lot of these companies are just going full retarded. Not sure what the latest on the FF7 remake is, but last I heard was it was going to be released in installments, it was going to be absolutely nothing like the original with combat, more of a Kingdom Hearts thing and the total cost was going to be around $200+. It's like they just want to piss people off lol. There's nothing wrong with a turnbased system, just increase the base speed a bit, add in some new materia/enemies, maybe throw in a couple of puzzles to make it a little more interesting and some end game bosses. Boom, you just sold 50 million copies, you're welcome.

I never did play with my dad on the PS, I played a lot of twisted metal with my brother and neighbor, I was pretty boss at the game. I think the reaper and tank were my best, but it's been so long that it's hard to remember exactly. I played a lot with my dad when I was really little, like on NES and things like that, and then I probably didn't game with him again until I had an Xbox and we played Halo together. That didn't last long and after a couple games I was no longer allowed to shoot. When I was like 15 or 16 though and pretty damn good at gaming (playing 8-14 hours a day on average), my dad picked up an odyssey 2 and we played a bunch of that together. He straight kicked my ass at every single game on there lol.

I'm surprised any old person can do a FPS like Halo. My dad sucks at anything that isn't TM2 or Pong lol

That's just fucking adorable lol. Never had any good ones like that. Had one day where my brother and I were both sick. My dad stayed home with us and we played FF7 the entire day, mostly my dad played, I was still a bit too young to understand materia pairing or setups or attack patterns, I think I just used summons whenever I could. Shit was a blast though. I always loved gaming with my dad and I still find it hilarious that he can beat me on pretty much any old-school arcade style game.

I almost want to go buy a Ps3 (first gen) or Ps2 just so I have a slightly better system to play old games on. I'm borrowing my brother-in-law's Ps1 atm (mine's in WA), and the thing is beat to all fucking hell. It's one of the mini ones with the portable screen or w/e, but that part is falling off, it doesn't close and spin the disc unless you have something heavy on it, and none of the buttons work. I have to unplug the power every time I want to turn it off. To really top it off, the only controller he has is a fucking Mad Catz controller lol. It works and I'm glad he's letting me use it, but holy balls would I like something a little more reliable.

Saw a Ps2 at the shop I picked up Crash at today for $30 lol, might not be too bad of an investment. Ps3s are still going for $100 - $150, little bit too much for me to drop on an obsolete system.

I thought I would have buyer's remorse buying a PS2 when PS3 had come out, but I've actually used the PS2 way, way more than the PS3 because it's actually backwards compatible

I also have one of those Mad Catz controllers lol. I loved the clear blue color, but it's a piece of shit.

Activision owns the rights for crash so it's not as easy as you think to just make it for ps4

e/ and 60gb backwards compatible ps3 owner checking in. Make me offers peasants.

Those McCormick marinades in the seasoning aisle at your local grocery store
