Yea we are stuck here for a while longer. Hopefully we can get out soon. It's hard to find jobs in other states.
I didn't know you were native.
I don't know much about that, but it's so disgusting seeing their one schoolhouse just falling apart and leaking when it rains and shit. The drugs run rampant on the res around here too. Methed out natives everywhere
Drugs are a big problem. I went to rehab back in WA when I was younger and 80% of the people in there were natives. The biggest problem is the cash they get when they turn 18 without any drug test or background check. Depending on the tribe, people in there got anywhere from 10-120k just for turning 18. Every single one of the natives I met in there knew at least 4-5 people their age who had died of overdoses or in drunk driving accidents. It's really just sad. My mom does statistics for the CDC and she contracts a lot with the local tribes up in WA, so I've gotten to see a lot of the raw numbers for how fucked it really is.
As far as corruption goes, the last 20 or so Navajo leaders in NM have been indicted on corruption charges lol. What do you expect when they got fucked by us and then turned around to get fucked 10x harder by their own people.
