Dat Indiana game was so exciting. Dat Yogi kid was making circus shots all game and then missed two good looks to tie or take the lead on the final possession, I was scared when he got that 2nd shot off lol

Fall semester.

Hopefully I'll get one of these teaching assistantships or something. They seem to have decent funding for their grad students.

No. Well, I mean I could if I wanted to pursue some sort of position as a program director at some college, but that would be many years away.

For right now, I'm just going to get my MA studying rhetoric and composition, take a position as a teaching assistant or adjunct professor, and then graduate.

Upon graduation, I will have valuable teaching experience from my TA, as well as the reputation that comes from completing Maryland's MA program (which is one of the best), to help land me a job somewhere as I pursue my PhD. It'd be cool to work as a community college professor somewhere while I earn my PhD. My local Harford Community College has a very nice campus with new-ish buildings and smarter students (it's a better school district), so that would be a sweet gig, plus I graduated there myself. And it would keep me close to home.

Getting accepted into MD's MA program is my metaphorical foot in the door. If I can eventually earn a spot in their PhD program I'd pretty much be set for life--basically everyone who graduates with a PhD from MD's rhet/comp program gets a 6-figure job as either a professor or professional writer for the government or something.

nice

you ever looked into sports journalism before?

I hate writing but sports journalism has always interested me

I know that job field is really poor though

I don't see it as a realistic career. A surfeit of reporters better than I and a dearth of good jobs.
