He's less of a bust than Jadeveon Clowney if that makes you feel any better.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has never led a team to the playoffs as a starting quarterback.
The Jets were wise not to invest long term into him. The stats can be deceiving sometimes.

Agreed, but still..Fitzpatrick gives them a better chance than Geno Smith does. The guy has the experience and a better arm.

Jadeveon Clowney has been plagued by injuries his first two seasons. I'll call him a bust if he fails after this third season. But you have to give him this one more season to prove his worth. It's not like the Texans are trying to replace him with a journeyman veteran which is the case for Geno Smith on the Jets.

Clowney is still unproven for sure, but not looking good with 2 years already wasted due to injury. Think he makes a comeback?

Yes, I think he can finally put it all together in year three. People will probably expect him to rack up 14 or 15 sacks at the very least. Especially when Whitney Mercilus, practically playing in place of an injured Clowney, racked up a career high 12 sacks last year.

This 2016 season is all he has left to prove himself. If he doesn't play well this year I won't be able to defend the fact he was the #1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. For a non-quarterback he's probably facing the biggest pressure of any player in the NFL going into this season.

Watt is injured right now (on PUP list). So our great pass rush (on paper) has taken a big hit.
We were expecting to have a healthy Watt (17.5 sacks), Mercilus (12 sacks) and Clowney entering the season.

That still may be the case. J.J. Watt is unlikely to miss Week 1's game against the Bears on September 11.

If it all works out well the Texans should have the best pass rush in the league. Three guys with double-digit sacks.

Heard about Watt's surgery, don't think that will slow him down. He's one of the best in the game.

Certainly can't count that pass rush out, anything with Watt in the lineup will always be a threat. I don't think Clowney will be the same person that he was coming out of college though. Will he help Watt get more penetration? Sure. But I think at this point his confidence is shot and he's always going to have that cloud of doubt with him.

Not so sure about that... i hear he may be out of commission 10 weeks (watt). If you were the texans why would u want to rush your best player out on the field so fast? Doesnt make sense. You should have him by october at the latest tho

Sources: Jets imposed 7 pm deadline or deal was off table. Ryan Fitzpatrick arrived at facility to accept offer at... 7 pm. Just perfect.

Are you seriously defending Geno? His arm is about as solid as his jaw

It depends which sources you want to believe. A lot of the local media are claiming he'll be ready for Week 1.
A lot of the national reports are making it seem more dire and saying that he's going to miss the first month of the season.
