Don't look into the numbers of sacks too much. Matthews is going to have a nice total in that stat this season, but it's more about just putting pressure on both sides. The difference Perry makes in keeping the blocking scheme honest is already apparent.

Yeah, I'm interested in that on Monday too. Granted, the Bears didn't do well with the run, but they never seem to. Forte has never broken 100 yards against the Packers, and I think he's finished under 60 more than half the times he's played them, so it's hard to gauge it by last Thursday. D just always seems to have his number.

Or Forte never has any blocking and gets lucky and finds holes when he can and breaks out for decent runs? I personally would like to see us try to run the ball more often.

/e That 4th and 1 still kills me... <_<

We ran it alot against the bears i think we keep this same game plan but if benson cant find holes bring in green for screens thats what made me mad about the 49er game benson couldnt get anything going 49ers knew we wouldnt run the ball so they played their linebackers and safeties deep all we had to do was bring green in a run a couple screen plays that woulda stopped them from playing deep

The Bears played the safeties deep too, as most teams will. It's no secret that with Jordy and Jennings the Packers are going to try to stretch the field and hit the big play. The underneath routes should continue to be open. Jones and Cobb need to take advantage. That's why I believe Finley will have a big year if he can shake the drops off.

It's not about the base coverage, but the style they use against the Packers. The safeties were much less aggressive down hill than you'll normally see from them. Other than Cobb's run and the fake FG, I think there were only three plays over fifteen yards (and only two or three over 16 against SF). Teams have realized the Packers do their damage with the deep routes and are much more willing to leave the underneath routes open while preventing the deep completions and preferring to take their chances against the OLine rather than play tight coverage all over the field.

I know McCarthy said Jennings wasn't where they wanted him to be Tuesday, but from what I've read, he's still expected to play.
