Ya, my niece plays and I know it's terrible. I just love the game and I think I'd get a kick out of teaching him some stuff. I played center forward for about 7 1/2 years and center back for 1 1/2. It'll be a boring start, but just a good way for me to spend some time with him. I'd like to get him into gaming, but I have a feeling like myself, he'll have an addictive personality and I don't want him wasting 10+ hours a day like I did playing a fucking game like D2 lol.

It started on PC, but they've done versions of it for both Xbox and now Ps4. All of them are F2P. You can buy all the gods for $30 or you can buy gems to buy skins and w/e, but you can unlock all gods and 90% of the skins with the ingame currency, just takes some time to grind.

Smite fun? Downloaded on my ps4 but only played it for like 5 minutes, seemed okay from what I saw. Not good with strategy games lol.

It's reallllly simple compared to other MOBAs, really only a few key things you need to learn to hold your own against the community atm (it's pretty bad). Later on it gets more and more complicated with learning to counter enemy builds, gods, knowing when to engage etc... but all of that shit you don't need to learn to have fun and do well for a long time. Just lmk if you want to fuck with it sometime, like anything, it's a lot more fun with friends.

I never played soccer as a kid. Even in recess it was the most boring shit in the world to me. He told me he didn't want to play it a couple weeks ago because he overheard me telling my wife in fucking hate soccer. So I explained to him it's the most boring sport to watch but I am more than willing to help him get better at it. He wants to play soccer football and I think wrestle. I'll take 2 out of 3 .

On the video game subject, if that's what he wants I will support that shit. There is money in it now. A lot of it. And it's only going to get bigger. When I was a kid that was always the argument that it was worthless since there is no money. Between pro gaming and youtube channels. But I can also see why you wouldn't want that since it's a big addiction to break if you don't make it.

I'm going to look into smite for the One. Been looking for a time waster for a couple hours a week type of game.

Soccer, football or tennis I'd be pretty pumped for. I was decent at all of those, but obviously put the most time/effort into soccer. Football is worrying with the whole concussion issue, but I think practices will continue getting safer and safer. I've never broken a bone playing a sport (broke a few knuckles in fights and punching a tree when I was drunk, but that's it), so I'm not too worried about him getting hurt, but I think his mom would probably be a bit more apprehensive of him playing a full contact sport.

The gaming industry is just rough to actually make it as a pro. Regardless of how talented you are, there's always a bit of luck involved. It's not easy to find a full team of people on or above your level, that was always a huge problem for me in Halo and was one of the reasons I mostly just played ranked games or dubs on GB. I can't blame him if he wants to game, I just want to make sure he's doing other shit as well and not spending 100% of his free-time stuck there from an early age. At least develop some social skills and game with IRL buddies for awhile and then with randoms or w/e. It does suck that the split-screen era is just fucking dead, I had some of my nights as a teen just going hard with 3-6 friends rotating on Halo2/3 split-screen or lanning up computers and doing D2 runs with mods and playing fucking Starcraft.

Check it out for sure. I don't have my One anymore (hopefully buying another one in the next month or two), but I played on there and it was a lot of fun.

Good luck. Me and my wife have been trying for awhile with no luck, might need to see something like that ourselves.

I'd start on craigslist

Awesome man. Just pm me or msg me online. I probably won't be available on weekends until late night. Like I said, my wife is out of town for the next few days doing the baby thing, so I'll be watching the kid after work and on the weekend full-time until she's back.

It's so much easier now to make it to pro than it was then. It's also a legit career as compared to back in the H2/3 days. 2nd place at HWC this year took home more for that tournament alone than Walshy did in his entire career. There's also the money from Twitch and legit Orgs to add into it.
