Even that process can be expensive. I'm not super knowledgeable on the process, but my aunt has adopted twice and I know it took forever and it was fairly expensive. I could talk to her and get some first-hand experience information for you if you'd like. I always think it's a cool thing when a couple makes an intelligent choice and actually plans it knowing they have the means and time to properly care for a child. Shit is never easy, but it sounds like you're being smart about it.

It might just be me being a terrible person... but I don't see myself loving an adopted baby as much as my own.

Honestly, I didn't feel any sort of attachment towards my son at all when he was born. It's the whole raising process that makes you like them more. Sure, they're little shits, but when they do little things you taught them or start cheering for your team (I love when my kid starts yelling go Patriots or Sounders or w/e) unprompted, it just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside lol.

Trying to at least. If we can't have one of our own, we both agreed we wouldn't mind raising a child and loving it as if he or she were.

I guess I can see that. I mean I felt an instant connection with my son but it's gotten way bigger as he's aged.

I've also stayed at home with my kids for almost their whole lives so I'm even more lucky in that regard.

I'm envious bro. I feel like I don't get to see mine that often with how much I'm working or if I'm gone for business trips or w/e. He's 3 next month, I want to get him started in sports at around 4-5 if he's interested, he's a fucking ball of crazy energy atm like I was when I was younger. I'm hoping to maybe help out as an assistant coach or w/e if they'll take me.
