It wasn't pretty but the Texans beat the Bears at their own game and on their field with sloppy weather conditions.
Danieal Manning was such a ballhawk out there tonight picking one off, forcing a fumble and making a couple of big-time hits. He nearly capped the game off with a pick six which would have been icing on the cake in his return to Chicago. Kareem Jackson may become an All Pro very soon under Wade Phillips and it's amazing how much he has improved in only two years. Johnathan Joseph did as well a job as you can do covering Brandon Marshall even though he made a couple nice catches deep downfield. I thought Marshall got away with a few offensive pass interference penalties that weren't called but Joseph hung tough and kept playing hard.
The entire secondary has played very well ever since that disappointment against Green Bay. That was a good wake-up call for this team.
Undefeated on the road this season but I think they need to go out and win at Detroit on Thanksgiving morning, try to follow that with a win at New England next month and most importantly win at Indianapolis the final game of the season -- well maybe, if it has any importance for home field advantage.
The Houston Texans are 0-10 all time at Indianapolis. Just from a fan base perspective it would be nice to finally get a road win there.
I can't wait for the Texans game against the Jaguars on Sunday. A chance at 9-1 against a team they should beat by two or three scores.
The offensive struggles don't concern me as much because of the sloppy conditions, plus the Bears have a damn good defense, and we were without Owen Daniels and Ben Tate, two pretty important pieces to the offense. Hopefully we get both back soon. Let them rest against the Jaguars if necessary. Need to have them back for the Lions game on Thanksgiving. Matt Schaub threw two INTS but he kept his composure and all that matters is winning 13-6.
