I live in the heart of Des Moines, which has 600K people, and is one of the more progressive places in the country. The rest of the state is a shithole.



When did I ever say that? I've been seriously considering moving out of state recently. I like Des Moines, and it's been good to me, but I'm not married to it.

The food is awesome, though.

If you're looking for a great club scene and lots of concerts and shit maybe not (although that has picked up enormously since Wells Fargo Arena was built), but I think I'd rather shoot a club up than pay admission and lose more hearing than I already have. Iowa is scenic, and that's pretty much all you need to enjoy a lifestyle of getting blackout drunk by yourself. Suits me just fine.
