if vick can come back im sure in a desperate situation some team might pick him up mid season if their RB goes down

i dont see a long term contract being offered

Vick was an elite talent At a different position.

Rice was an elite talent. Had he done this two years prior when he was regarded as one of the best backs in the nfl, I think a team takes a chance on him.

However, he was bad his last year on top of having a video of him beating the shit out of a woman. It's a bad look for a team and not worth the risk. Running backs are a dime a dozen. I'd rather take a chance on a Pierre Thomas or the long list of other free agent backs that don't have this black cloud above them just from a media perspective.

The coaches with the hottest seats, according to Carlyon, are Chargers HC Mike McCoy and Jaguars HC Gus Bradley.

Meanwhile, Lions HC Jim Caldwell, Rams HC Jeff Fisher and Bills HC Rex Ryan all have “warm” seats writes Carlyon.

As for others coaches could end up being in danger of losing their job, Carlyon lists Cowboys HC Jason Garrett, Falcons HC Dan Quinn and Bengals HC Marvin Lewis as three coaches worth watching.

He's a beat writer for the Jags and this is old/throwing stuff at a wall.

Kind of fucked up for Gus to be on the hot seat. Such a young team on the rise which would be a setback if they let him go.

How lewis still has a job idk

This is year 4 for Gus. He's 12-36 in his first 3 years. Any other franchise and that HC would have been fired long ago with that kind of record. Our owner Shad Khan has had plenty of patience, but he made it public that he expects wins this season. The first 2 years of the rebuild are whatever, but we should have won more than 5 games this past season.

Anything less than a 8-8 record in this coming season and it's most likely going to cost Gus his job. There's literally no excuses anymore.

Yea we have a lot of young guys, but this team has talent all across the board now. Our GM Dave Caldwell built it the right way.

Year 4 of a rebuild is when it's time for the results to really show. Yes we're still a very young team, but it's not inexperienced young. We've had 4 draft classes now and 4 FA classes. While yes our first 3 draft classes are still young, they've all been playing since day 1.

Jags are right in that spot where the Dolphins and Redskins always fail: just bought a bunch of FAs who don't necessarily know how to play together and/or aren't motivated, have a weak coach at the helm to somehow make them play like a team, end season 4-12, fire coach, rebuild, repeat.

I agree Gus Bradley should be doing a lot more with what he has on that roster

The majority of our talent is from drafts, not FA.

Over the past couple years Jags have added a lot of talent through FA, probably more than any other team. They're basically following the blueprint set by the Phins, Skins, and Al Davis Raiders.

Except they're drafting QBs instead of trading valuable picks for them, they're building defense instead of drafting guys based off of their 40 time, and in general they're hitting on draft picks instead of missing.

Jags are building well and getting no results. Keep your scouting team and your GM. Fire all your coaches and bring in a new group. The talent should be there.
