I had optimism that there existed a threshold where being a terrible person kept you from playing football despite your talent. Perhaps not.

When your top two Pass Rushers are basically a rookie and another rookie, I'm all for them kicking some tires.

Khan was at the stadium today, so I'm sure he met with Hardy and obviously Caldwell and Bradley did as well.

Hardy left without signing any contract, so at this point there's no harm in them meeting.

I think it's more of a sign that they'll be looking real hard at all of the cuts that'll soon be happening over the next month+. Teams don't cut good pass rushers though, so it'll really be nothing more then just "guys".

Personally I don't see how Hardy would fit in with this locker room honestly. He's a cancer and I don't think Fowler and Yannick need that kind of influence. However, the name of the game is to just win baby. I know we have enough high character people in that locker room to manage Hardy, but there would definitely be a lot of back lash if we signed him. Mainly from the public.

Rice is genuinely remorseful for what he did. Hardy laughed when reporters asked him if he was sorry. Not to mention the act that Hardy did is much more severe than what Rice did. Couple all that with the disparity in talent and the two really aren't even comparable.

Just giving you a hard time.

Now whether he's genuine or not, nobody but him knows for sure. Certainly not on Hardy's level in terms of behavior, of course. And basically willing to play for free certainly speaks volumes as well.

Ray has done so much to speak out against DV since he's been out of football, mainly around here. Folks outside of the Balt. area don't hear about it because he's pretty much a nobody now, but he really does put in work.

Hey, if he's willing to put in the time and effort to try to make up for his past, can't fault a man for that. He's still ridiculously talented and should get a second chance if anything.

Now will he? Hard to say. Way too many DV issues within the NFL these past few years and most teams are going to stay away from that potential media outlet.

Oh I'm not saying he should get a 2nd chance. He was declining even when he got released, and it's probably because he was a total workhorse back the years prior. Couple the natural decline of RBs with the general de-value of the position and the endless elevator footage that comes with signing him and it's just not going to happen.

And even with the above problems mentioned, possibly the biggest thing keeping him out is that he sold-out owner Steve Bisciotti when he sent him a personal text message asking that Ray just accept the punishment, after which time he'll get a job with the organization on the back-end as compensation. It was a crooked move by Bisciotti, but the point is that once you hurt an owner like that, all of the other owners are going to avoid him just because Ray betrayed one of their fellow owners. NFL owners are brotherhood; Ray can't hurt one like that and then be cool with the rest of them.

Well damn, he screwed himself. Pretty much all the owners I'm sure talk behind closed doors, can't see it going well for him if that's the case.

IF Ray rice does get another shot in the nfl... Which teams would even be interested in a running back of his age?

I don't think he gets another chance just because he's older now and the media will lose it if he does. Crazy what the difference is between reading what happened and a video of what happened. the easiest example to use is hardy --- if there was a video of what he did released... Zero chance he ever touched the nfl again. Especially since rice has been a relatively high character guy besides this incident.

He's only 29. Could be useful to somebody, especially if he's signed to a 1-year contract with no guaranteed money.
