i dont believe that he can become a solid #1 in the nfl
if he does, im going to be surprised

I love the fact that he’s a 2018 pick, that makes him, Jackson, and Baker all from that class going at it. Hopefully he can keep up (but really hopefully not)

He’s going to Miami

He’s not eligible for the 2020 draft

what the f the steelers are doing lmao
big ben is retired next year and this draft had plenty of good qb's to be drafted and you trade your first round pick which will be a top 10 this year for a safety

Yeah the defense will be improved but what does the steelers are seeing in the 2021 draft? are they tanking for 2021 and consider minkha as a better player than a top 10 draft pick this year?
i dont understand what they are doing

Staying as far away as possible from Trevor Lawrence, one hopes

From what I gathered, I think the Pittsburgh organization is thinking very short term. In my opinion being so early in the year they think they can still pull off a winning season maybe even wildcard into the playoffs (odds are obv against them)

They scouted Minkah last year, knew the type of player he was, and knew they could use him immediately to try to beef up the defense. Also our safety Sean Davis got put in IR so they needed a replacement asap. Secondary is already bad

I'm guessing they are thinking get the player they know they want now (who still on a rookie contract) or use 1st round pick for a player that is a coin flip on how they will actually perform.

Also all eggs in the basket for Rudolph - they seem confident in his ability :)

a recipe for disaster tbh
theres a lot of if's. Yeah rudolph didnt do too bad after big ben got injured but was it a one time wonder? can he keep up this level for the rest of the season
i dont think so tbh and yeah i like the fact that they got a safety who was drafted the year before for their 1st round pick but idk, its a pretty risky move
and he needs to be able to perform in pittsburgh system

Ride or die at this point

Man right! I mean we saw him play 1/2 a game and granted he did good but still a great risk. I think they are weighing heavy on Mason's experience with the team and knowing the offense, plus he had a pretty solid pre-season fwiw.

I like they are making moves instead of just rolling over and saving a draft pick for a potential replacement for Ben (whom may also flop)

In a perfect scenario Mason does pretty solid and when Ben comes back next year they groom Mason to be his ultimate replacement.

it was a perfect situation for the team to accept having a ''crap'' season since the fans had already accepted that the season was over it after losing AB, Bell and Big ben in one year

but instead they are giving hopes to the fans and to satisfy them you will have to have at least an 8-8 season when you are already 0-2, they are to go 8-6 for the rest of the season
if they end up in the last 10 teams of the nfl, the fans will be pissed in pittsburgh and heads will rolls in pitts.

They are putting their balls on the table with this move
just like you said its ride or die

Hahah I think the nail in coffin was when AB ended up in New England. Ultimate middle finger. Bell ehhh he was crying on the sidelines yesterday  Ben definitely a big blow lol.

Honestly if they pull off 8-8 season I'll be happy af. Tomlin has never had a losing season in Pittsburgh. Steeler fans seem to hate the guy so let's see what he is worth.

It's only 2 weeks and it seem's like such a long season already haha. I'm anxious to see what happens.
