How is time of possession so important in determining who played better when one player throws 40 passes and the other throws 41?

They had to same # of attempts. 40, 41.

Brady even had one more throw than Eli.

Look at the number of plays. The Giants ran 71 to the Pats 62. 15 minutes of possession to run an extra 9 plays. The Pats are simply a much higher paced offense, which really causes TOP to matter a lot less.

On a side note, I wish your team the best of luck on actually making the playoffs next year. At least the pats have been consistently good.
