I said I can make an argument. The league is loaded with talent. He's one of the best defensive players in the league aleady though lol. This is a guy with only 2 seasons under his belt after all. He's just getting started and was already pure dominance year 2....
Carter is generational. Already better last year in just his second season than Eagles legends like Fletcher Cox ever were and that's saying a lot. Without Carter, Eagles don't win the Super Bowl (or make it for that matter). He took over the game against the Rams to close them out and absolutely wrecked that game for LA. He also has among the highest double team %'s in the NFL last season (even had a high rate his rookie year).
1) Carter will soon be the highest paid defensive player in the NFL. Howie is making damn sure they can re-sign him to a monster deal. He'll reset the market for sure.
2) Guy gets held every play
Argue all ya want but Carter makes alllllll the difference on that defense. Without him forcing the o-line to double team him it makes it much harder for everyone else.
Couple points to make out of this nonsense.
1. Jalen Carter is not even the top 30 best defensive players in this league. He has like 10.5 sacks in 32 games played, which is more than .25 sacks per game lower than Chris Jones, whose career sacks per game is .25 lower than Aaron Donald, who you tried to compare carter to. The gap from Chris Jones to Carter is literally the same gap from Donald to Chris Jones.
2. Carter is not generational. He's just a very good DT. You still win that super bowl without him though, because we (my chiefs) had no left tackle to help Mahomes, a problem we ran through all season last year, and were hand gifted from the league a top 5-10 LT talent in the draft.
3. Carter does not get held on every play, and his double/triple team rate is actually very low by comparison to guys like Chris Jones and Aaron Donald, yet he somehow puts up lower numbers than both, weird.
4. Micah parsons, who has a higher sacks per game rate than Aaron Donald, was just traded away from the team you played, and is a bigger loss of impact than Carter getting ejected.
5. Micah parsons is undeniably the best defensive player in this league, period, end of story.
Lastly, you're gloating about a 4 point win at home in a game you very easily could have lost, where your offensive was anemic and stagnant in portions of this game where you should have closed them out. The eagles of last year would have beaten this team by 25 points. The cowboys are a team that will struggle to sniff .500 this year, yikes.
