You haven't played the game, this conversation is pointless lol. I'd much rather have a dev focus 100% on the multiplayer aspect for a shooter, any real gamer would. It's pointless and stupid spending half your time and resources building a campaign with a shit story and little to no replay value. When was the last time a FPS (console) had a good campaign? Maybe 2007 with Halo 3? I can easily get a couple hundred hours of gameplay out of a multiplayer I enjoy, I'll get maybe six out of any campaign on the hardest difficulty. Wouldn't any logical gamer rather have them putting all their efforts into the hundreds of hours over them creating a campaign worth 6-12 hours of gameplay that takes away from the game as a whole?

As someone who is a fan of all types of video games I disagree. I think the best games ever made have a good combination of both. Gears of War is easily my favorite campaign to play and the online play up until Judgement was amazing. (Minus the terrible server situation in the beginning for 2)

Games like COD dont need it. Nobody plays that shit. I honestly would, but after MW2 the campaign wasnt even worth the time to learn guns or anything.

If you think that putting a really solid single player into TitanFall would have been a bad idea youre crazy. Games like TitanFall will always do poorly in comparison to COD because there is no reason to get into the game, there is no story to get into and have feelings about and when you design a FPS without feeling you get COD. and if your game isnt COD enough (Like Battlefield) you will fail because of the mass market COD already has.

Personal preference I guess. I don't care about single player at all for FPS type games and I'd much rather 100% of a dev's energy goes into multiplayer. Feelings play no part in whether or not I find an FPS to be fun, the best FPS was fucking Counter Strike and I only ever played online for that. Gameplay is what's important to me and I wish devs would attempt to create a seamless multiplayer experience rather than combining two unfinished products and pushing it out as quickly as possible. I don't think trying to make a good campaign is necessarily a bad idea, it tends to draw in more casuals if it's an epic campaign but it does nothing for me and I couldn't care less about it.

Never finished it, played it once for like 30 minutes and went back to multiplayer lol. I believe it though, Bungie was always amazing at telling a story. They just let the multiplayer aspect die and it's all I did by the end of H3.

I was pretty much saying the same thing with adding a few things. Yea feelings may not play a role in your decisions about games, but most people want to be into a game, not just play it to blow hours on killing faggets who fuck your mother online.

In essence, without getting into a raging gaming debate, I think they should separate it completely. Charge 60 bucks for the main game/campaign and then 60 bucks more for the online portion. It would fix almost all the issues going on inside developement studios and offer everyone a better experience on both ends.

Fuck with how much I play BO2 I would have easily spent 60 for zombies and 60 for the online.

What. Plug in 360 and run it with me tonight. Best Halo campaign. And it scaled the difficulties based on how many people were in the game. So legendary with four people was harder than one instead of being a joke.

That's what skulls were for :P

I'm not sure if I still have my copy or not, I'll look around for it.

I've got a couple games scheduled for after work, so probably not tonight.

Same, I fucking loved zombies on bo2 lol. They could also not be dicks and stop charging people 15 bucks every other month to buy one new map, they probably still would though.

Think you're missing the point. I'd much rather pay for one aspect of a game that's completely finished and comes with all content rather then paying for a game with 3 broken components. Yes, I'd gladly play $60 for something that was just multiplayer, as long it was actually good and I'd be happy paying $60 for something like zombies (because I enjoy it) as long as it came with all the added content included with the price of my $60.

That being said, I'd never buy a campaign again but I'm sure plenty of others would.

Thats kind of what I am getting at here. Most gamers freak out about the 50 dollar dlc, but without it there wouldnt be ANY money to be made.

Think about the fact games have been 50 bucks since 1995 and 60 bucks since like 2002. Now think about how little programming and time was spent back then compared to now.

Games should cost 120 bucks each, but people would freak out seeing that so instead they charge you 60 for a broken game and 50 more for dlc to fix it.

The problem is that dlcs don't fix any of the core issues. You can't fix your engine with an update lol. 100% of the time DLC weapons and maps are banned from competitive play because the maps are garbage and the guns are broken. DLC content is rushed out as well, everyone is just trying to make a little extra coin off a bad game. I understand it's getting harder and harder to make these games perfect, no one said it was easy. I just don't think it's too much to ask for that they attempt to at least perfect one aspect of their game. The campaigns on most games have been horrible lately (with the exception of Bungie), Zombies is fun for a day or two but with the limited map, upgrades, etc... that only come with spending more money it's fucking pointless and don't get me started on multiplayer lol.

No ur missing the point by automaticaly assuming that if theyhad put out a campaign the game would of been shit. U just assume it would of ruined the game and made it worse. Who's to say it wouldn't of been gg as fuck and worth the play through? My issue is the fact that they didn't even bother to put up the effort of even a shit campaign. Pure laziness

And don't give me that deadline bs cuz as far as what I've always heard bout titanfall there were no plans for a campaign from the jump
