Assuming you work for a trucking company and not an independent driver (where you buy or contract your own rig), they're typically union jobs and start at decent pay. Probably ~$16/hr. The local jobs are much harder to get than the road ones.

The standard ones don't. The larger delivery trucks do.
If you were going that route, you'd want to look into PSE&G. They have a low standard rate but make a killing in overtime. Most of the OT is just being "On Call" which typically means taking the truck home and responding to an emergency call once in a blue moon.
