OVERVIEW

Hosley is an early entry junior who was a very productive corner for Virginia Tech throughout his career. He is undersized but plays with tenacity and a sense of urgency when around the ball. Hosley is an extremely scrappy player who finds a way to make an impact from the boundary corner position. He could be a late riser in the draft and needs to prove that he can add weight to his frame to compete with NFL size, but he has late first-round value and should find playing time in nickel packages right away.

ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS Hosley is an excellent zone corner who has a ton of range and playmaking ability around the ball. He has good field awareness to sniff out receiver screens and is quick reacting when the ball is thrown. He is consistently involved in the play and has good length to disengage receivers from the ball. Hosley is deceptive as a hitter and can deliver a serious blow for having such a small frame. He has an impressive bubble and is a very bouncy athlete who can change directions on a dime. He is capable of smothering at the line using his hands and technique, and can stay in a receiver's hip in-phase. He is a scrappy player who employs an unconventional shuffle step and technique in general, but he finds a way to make impact plays.

WEAKNESSES Hosley is very thin and could get abused by the likes of Larry Fitzgerald and other big receivers. He has unconventional footwork that could get him in trouble against quicker athletes. He can get lost at times when working with his back toward the ball and needs to be placed within the right scheme to be an effective player.

He failed a drug test at the combine which is why he fell

I'm disappointed with our 3rd round pick. I haven't been disappointed with a first or second day pick in a while..I understand we are looking for CB depth but that is why we made a couple signings and whatnot..we needed help on the OL and Massie fell right to us. This I do not understand..I would have rather had them pick a freaking DE..

Lol for the life of me I cannot understand anyone questioning Jerry Reese.

Hosley had 9 picks in one season 2 years ago. he has SERIOUS ball skills and cover skills. He could fill in immediately as our nickle.

He was BPA... Massie is dropping for a reason, you really think he's that great that EVERY team passed up on him?

Come on man... trust Reese we've had an excellent draft thus far

I don't care what the deal with Massie is..the fact is we need help on the O-Line, not corner..I'm sorry..filling in at nickle? Webster, Amukamara, Thomas, with four other corners that can fill in..absolutely no need for a corner

Our O-line is in much better shape than you think.

Beatty-Boothe-Baas-Snee-Diehl
Depth: Petrus, Brewer, Locklear

Locklear as the swing tackle and likely TE in heavy package, and Petrus as the backup interior OL.

Brewer can continue to develop. We also have Bennet who is EXCELLENT at blocking.

Dane Brugler had Hosley as a 1st-2nd round talent (pre drug test)

Compares him to Ronde Barber.

I don't like Baas, Diehl or Beatty..I like our depth but would have loved getting a tackle or interior lineman that we can plug in day one..We need to get a left tackle asap..one that we don't have to worry about every single year
