Mike and Mike, one of the Mike said we were the most complete team. Giants, 49ers, Packers, and the Falcons are behind the Texans. Owen Daniels and Garrett Graham also made the top 5 catches.

I'm excited for that Bills game next Sunday. I may make a red bolded thread again. Mario Williams' homecoming game. LOL

A chance to get to 7-1 before the big road game at Chicago on Sunday Night Football. A possible Super Bowl preview, IMO.

Marshal Yanda actually did a better job blocking Watt then he did in the playoffs (12 tackles and 2.5 sacks). Yanda was being nice to him all game long. That's probably not a bad strategy to take. He didn't piss Watt off very much. The only one talking smack to Watt was Ray Rice, who's half his size.

But the difference is winning 43-13 as oppose to losing 20-13. And Watt had more pass deflections, one leading to the pick 6 by Joseph.

The bye week sucks. Still chatting about the last game and looking forward to the Bills next Sunday. It's all we can do.

It's hard to believe the Texans have a shot to go deep in the playoffs (possible Super Bowl run) without Brian Cushing but they really can if the offense plays like they did against the Ravens. Staying healthy obviously is the most important. People doubted before the season started that Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels and Arian Foster could stay healthy all season long. But all four have been reliable in 2012. But now they've got to start producing the big numbers we expect to see.

Last week was the first time all season the Texans played a good game on offense for a full four quarters. Gary Kubiak lit a fire under Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson and Antonio Smith. Telling them to step their game up before the last game.

The 1st seed in the AFC is critical. The Texans can't let it slip away and allow some team like the Patriots to get it.

This is the play we'll look back on that sparked the team. They were dead in the water for two straight games against the Packers and Jets, and to start this game off it wasn't looking so good for that entire 1st quarter. Prior to the big safety by Barwin I was starting to feel a little worried. All the momentum changed with that one big play.

I'm just worried that an elite quarterback would have thrown a quick completion over the middle of the field for a first down. Joe Flacco, well, he isn't so great... Give Aaron Rodgers the same look and he's hitting that guy over the middle for a 7 or 8 yard gain.

I need to see the Texans beating Jay Cutler (in two weeks), Tom Brady and some real good quarterbacks they have coming up on the schedule. Maybe even get a second chance at Aaron Rodgers in Super Bowl 47. Who knows, the NFC is so tough it's hard to say who will win that conference.

Hopefully he'll go beast mode the rest of the season and playoffs. We need him and Mercilus to dominate in order for us to forget about Cushing. They were both monsters against the Ravens. Even if the Texans beat the Bills next Sunday and get to 7-1 people will say they haven't beaten a good team yet even though I would argue the Broncos are dangerous. The Texans will have to beat the Bears in Chicago in two weeks, on NBC Sunday Night Football to earn any real respect. Both the Texans and Bears will likely be 7-1 going into that game.

If the Texans can get to 8-1 with a "good win" in Chicago, on primetime TV for everybody in the country to see, then people will say the Packers game was just a fluke and the Texans are for real. But if we can't beat the Bears people will say the Texans are overrated and sadly, I can't argue that if they lose to the Bears. You've got to beat the best teams to become the best team. And while the Ravens were 5-1 coming into Houston nobody considered them an elite team with all of their injuries. They were lucky to beat the Cowboys a week before at home.

Houston Texans Sign Terrell McClain

The Houston Texans have signed defensive tackle Terrell McClain, who was released earlier this month by the Patriots. The USF product and 2011 third-round pick by Carolina has potential as an interior pass rusher in sub-packages, but he is undersized and struggled against the run last season. I don’t see that changing any time soon, but he can be a quality player in this league if he develops enough as a pass rusher. He has upside there, and that upside can be tapped by Wade Phillips and the Houston Texans.

I actually like McClain’s prospects in a 3-4 at DE a lot more than as a 4-3 DT, but that’s only because he has more upside there. It’s a nice low-risk move for the Texans, as they could potentially morph him into an above-average pass rushing specialist.

Carolina Panthers
He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. On September 2, 2012, he was released.

New England Patriots
McClain signed with the New England Patriots on September 26, 2012. On October 2, 2012, he was waived.

Houston Texans
McClain signed with the Houston Texans on October 29, 2012.

I sure hope this kid sticks around with the Texans. His NFL career is looking like a bust so far, but he's still young and if anybody can turn him into a beast like he was in college it's going to be Wade Phillips. Just look at what he's done for Kareem Jackson in the pros (complete transformation) and he was also a player who struggled mightily as a rookie just like McClain did. Also there is a lot of talk around the NFL that Terrell McClain will be better suited in the Texans 3-4 defense because they get the most out of their edge rushers. This could be a huge steal and home run signing by Texans GM Rick Smith if he pans out. This is like a free third-round pick in last year's draft. There is very little to lose and a lot to gain with this signing.
