I wouldn't be against a high quality mid size revolver either. They're just so reliable.
I'm lucky enough not to have some of the physical limitations that you're dealing with.
Idk about smooth (they always felt really stiff to me), but they are reliable.
If I was able-bodied I could see myself getting a glock, but I really like how 1911's look and feel (dat WW2 nostalgia), even though they're less reliable and trickier to take apart.
