I had a match against this guy at a Toys R Us when I was a kid, and he had a Gyrados that I was about to knock out with some pokemon or another, I think it was a Wigglytuff. I just had to get one more prize to win and get my 2nd or 3rd badge at the time, but I ran out of cards before I could officially knock out his Gyrados, resulting in a loss on my end. It was really disappointing at the time and I brought it up to anyone who would listen for months.

I have honestly heard the same story from literally everyone else I have ever talked to who played Pokemon tcg as a kid lol
