NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden is turning down all head-coaching interviews and is "very happy" staying in Cincinnati.
We like the news for Andy Dalton, who will enter his second NFL season in the same offensive system. The Rams recently reached out to Gruden as a potential fallback option if they don't land Jeff Fisher. He's unwilling to interview. Gruden had also been rumored as a candidate in Jacksonville. Gruden interestingly took a recent veiled shot at impending free agent Cedric Benson for pouting on the sideline while Bernard Scott was in. The Bengals may be on the prowl for a new feature back this offseason.
please jags dont go after mike sherman
Rumors are that Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski might be the leading candidate. I guess they're bringing him in for a 2nd interview. Khan wasn't there for the first interview though, so it may not be anything more then him just wanting to sit in on the interview. I think Gene probably gave him good praises though, that's why Khan wanted to bring him in for another interview.
Alualu has played almost both seasons on a bad knee. He's pretty much been on one leg out there, his whole time in Jacksonville and he's still a beast. It looks like he's going to try and go another season without surgery and is gonna try and have strength and conditioning, heal it up. He said he's going to work with the trainers during the offseason and go from there. I really hope he doesn't put off having the surgery, only to have it come around to Training camps and such, then find out hes gotta have the surgery. I would really rather he just go in now and get whatever is the problem, fixed and be ready to roll when the start of the season comes around. Rumors are it's a cartilage problem in the knee.
