Falcons "possibly" looking to trade up with Jags to #3 for Williams or Fowler.
I could believe this, at #8 we're sort of in the same predicament as last year, where Clowney/Mack/Robinson were all knowingly going to be taken before us, leaving just Matthews/Barr/Lewan/Ford to choose from.
We have heavily scouted possible (pre-ranked) 3rd round draft picks, and have focused a lot on the top tier players as well... I don't see much research going into the 2nd round picks.
Beasley's draft stock has taken a plunge, as well as Shane Ray's. Both of these players I believe will be efficient on whatever team they go to, but the Falcons have quietly moved away from being linked to these guys.
Next option is take BPA (best player available) at #8. Is that Gurley? I personally wouldn't mind this pick, but not assessing a gaping need (DL/DE/LB) would leave me pondering a little.
The next logical choice (if the best pass rushers are off the board) is to play it safe and go with Scherff. No one complains about a good OLine.
It sucks that we win like a couple games and still end up in a relatively "dead area" of the draft, reminiscent of last year.

Would be perfect. We'd get at least your guy's 1st round pick next year and hopefully Beastley is still on the board at #8.

How has Beastly fallen at all?

And I'd like that trade for both teams. Idk who I'd rather see on the Falcons but Fowler probably makes more sense.

Edit: Also all this talk about Randy Gregory falling to the Cardinals is getting my hopes up so hard.

The Redskins will exercise their fifth-year option on Robert Griffin III's contract, a move that will keep the star quarterback under Washington's contractual control through the 2016 season.

Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan announced the team's decision Monday, saying there is a "very positive feeling in the building right now."

Griffin will make $16.2 million in the option year in 2016. He will make $3.27 million in base salary this season.

I'm seeing Gregory going to you guys in more and more mocks as it gets closer.

Hope you get your guy.
