Overall, it depends what you're going for. If you want a good gaming laptop I'd say go for something a little more beefier. If you want gaming but are willing to sacrifice a bit of fidelity, I'd say for 1k this is fine. If you change your mind and don't want gaming then you can get much better specs elsewhere without the ROG stamp or 960 inside.
