The numbers I see:

Contract Terms: 4 yr(s) / $92,000,000

More reasonable at 23m than 26m. That way he's just topping Tunsel's salary by $1m/year instead of 4m/year.

Signing bonus was included in the initial number

Packers seem be planning on letting Jones walk if he wants too much money hence our 2nd round pick

Rodgers gone too, after this next beat down in the playoffs incoming. B)

That shouldn't matter though because signing bonus basically just means that money is given to the player immediately but it doesn't affect the overall amount of the contract. The cap hit is just spread out evenly over the length of the contract.

That would be unfortunate because Jones is a lot bigger of a playmaker. Not many running backs can catch the ball as well as Jones.

You're preaching to the choir. Have you ever known the packers to shell out top money to the rb position? I do think Jones is the type of cat to take a pay cut though so hopefully they figure something out

11 mill per year seems reasonable

Ya but they haven't had a running back like Jones since I've been a fan. They've never had anyone worth opening the checkbook for. The best RB they had couldn't manage his weight in the offseason so they didn't pay him. It's also hard to compare the Packers to the past with the FO rearranged.

I just posted the first number when it was reported initially.

I always think we'll get a Brady paycut type player but you underestimate how much these dudes feel the need to cash in. I think with Bakhs deal finally done, they can start the talks with Jones. Can't say I'm optimistic though because it seems the GB front office want Rodgers throwing to burlap sacks by 2022

A running back isn't the position to expect to get a paycut from. Their careers are shortest in the NFL usually and they get pennies on the dollar on their rookie contracts because they rarely get drafted high. Jones was 5th Rounder so he hasn't made much money and is extremely unlikely to take a discount. Linsley is most likely gone after the year. Which is ok because they had to let someone go, he's been really good this year but unfortunately the other guys are more important.

Green and Levens probably the closest to his skill level, though I was way too young to care about their paychecks then

you got any input regarding their contracts compared to the rest of the league at their time?
